ACCOUNTABILITY
The hallmark of NCDC is the promotion of the integrity of its member organizations to donors, the media and the general public. One
of the greatest benefits of membership is being able to tell your donors that you have pledged to adhere to the highest standards of
integrity and commitment in the Catholic fundraising field.
As 501 (c) (3) religious nonprofit organizations, our members are exempt from many of the laws and regulations regarding disclosure.
This does not exempt us from scrutiny or questions from both the government as well as our publics. Disclosure, transparency, and
accountability are clearly controversial issues, which are currently discussed in a variety of arenas, in terms of our donor relationships.
NCDC promises to advocate on behalf of our members in these matters, and strives to continue to provide members with the information and
tools necessary to meet the challenges of ethical fundraising and Catholic stewardship with justice and integrity.
Each year, member organizations recommit to raising funds with honesty and integrity. Each organization pledges to recognize and respect
its donors and their rights and to remain accountable.
